LANDS ALLOTTED UNDER THE GENERAL ALLOTMENT ACT


      This part includes three features. As in the case of the Five Civilized Tribes, the first feature is a table of alienability. As far as I know, this is the first published effort toward reducing the law of alienability of the lands allotted under the General Allotment Act to chart form. As the name suggests, Indians outside Oklahoma, as well as many in Oklahoma, were allotted under this Act.

      The second and third features are reprints of articles relating to allotments under the General Allotment Act and to the allotments of the Kickapoos.

      As to the latter, it can be said that the Kickapoos warrant special treatment because of some legislation relating exclusively to them. This was the result of numerous Kickapoos, who had been allotted in Oklahoma, moving to Mexico.
