CHAPTER 27 - - SEVERABILITY AND EFFECTIVE DATE

27.1 SECTION 1: SEVERABILLITY

27.1.1

If any chapter, section, or subsection of this Code is found to be illegal by any court of competent jurisdiction, said chapter, section or subsection shall be deemed severable, and that which remains shall be capable of separate enforcement.


27.2 SECTION 2: EFFECTIVE DATE

27.2.1

Upon adoption by the Tribal Council and approval by the Superintendent, this Code shall become the ordinances of the Red Cliff Band.

27.2.2

This Code shall become effective upon publication of formal notice in the Tribal Newsletter and one other local area newspaper, except where the Red Cliff Tribal Council waives the requirement of this section by resolution.

27.2.3

Such notice shall give a brief resume of the areas covered by the Code, expressly state the date on which it shall take effect, and direct interested persons to the Tribal Office or official from which copies of applicable regulations can be obtained.

27.2.4

This Code may be amended by the Tribal Council. Such amendment shall become effective when the provisions of 27.2.2 and 27.2.3 are followed with respect to the amendment.

27.2.5

Copies of all amendments shall be distributed to the known holder of every copy of this Code with instructions attached as how to substitute correct sections and pages.
